UPDATES! Improve my Game Jam #9 Devlog

This devlog is for the Improve my Game Jam #9! 

This game was originally made for the PB & Game Jam and was initially released on 5/20/2020 (just a few days ago)

Here is a list of all the things that I have added to my game since it was originally launched. Keep in mind that this is a puzzle/escape game so there is a Spoiler Section in these updates. I recommend playing through the game first before reading those changes so as to not ruin the experience for yourself.  (Download for the best experience)

Audio:

• Added rain outside for ambience.
• Added object pickup noises.
• Added noises when using different objects.
• Added sound effects to drawers, doors and cupboards
• Added a sound effect for “can’t use that item here”

Visual:

• Light switches were replaced and animated to show the on/off position.

• Added outlets and baseboards.
• Changed the texture of ceiling lights so that they are no longer plain white in the darkness.
• Fixed visual clipping/overlap issues with some objects.
• Added a deck of cards to the table scene.

General Fixes:

• Added box colliders to some pieces of furniture that were missing them. No longer will you be able to walk into the fridge!
• Hitboxes on some investigatable items have now been re centered, making them much easier to examine.
• Fixed (hopefully) the glitching and overlapping floor textures.
• Adjusted the hardness of light to hopefully reduce lag.
• Removed rigidbodies from the poker chips so they will no longer fly around and unintentionally spook the player.
• Added a ceiling lamp to the main bedroom.
• Adjusted player height to be more realistic.
• No longer able to open drawers through other drawers.

Spoiler Section: (You've Been Warned)

• The keypad in the hall closet now displays the numbers you pressed and now has a functional clear button.
• TV Remote section completely overhauled with a UI display of the television screen showing you which channel you have selected.
• TV Remote on the table now disappears completely when using it, instead of spinning around.
• The candle will now be equipped directly after lighting.
• The notes around the house now have the text printed directly onto them.
• The notes around the house are no longer completely flat 2D planes and are now scaled down cubes.
